Beachcombing Prada

One of the great things about living in Dubai is that the beach is never more than 10 minutes away from wherever you are. Considering Beachcombing is a favourite subject of mine I should really be spending more time down there.

For this shot I used some idea's that I picked up from shooting with David Nightingale . In my earlier Beachcombing shots I used to struggle to include the background and use it to portray the setting of the scene. However when David found this can of Pepsi on our shoot he demonstrated how you can create a composition in which the foreground provides enough information about the subjects settings so that the background becomes irrelevant to the story. He suggested that I try this approach during the summer months in Dubai when we have very poor light and flat skies so this is what I attempted here...
