Winter is almost here in Dubai and today it was a cool 34c. As I was driving today I noticed these gentlemen sitting down for a nice picnic by the side of the road.
Actually, these men are making the road and their table will eventually be part of the bridge they are constructing. The containers that their lunch is in I believe are called dabbas or tiffins and have several compartments to store rice and curry separately. Unfortunately this is a fairly common scene in Dubai, where the workers often get no relief from the midday heat other than during the months of July & August where a law ensures that they are provided a cool place to rest for lunch...
